I am a sucker for films about dreams and dreamers. Although the film felt like a collection of vignettes, it hit many different notes that were sufficient to show Shelly’s complex persona. I appreciated that aside from showing how chasing dreams requires sacrifice, the film touched on how it could make one a little selfish. Finally, sometimes it’s just difficult to talk about a movie without thinking about the real lives of its actors. Knowing Pam Anderson’s career and watching the eclipse of her career and Shelly’s was very moving. In this sense, I greatly appreciated that the film was kind to its subjects and it ended with hope not loss.
